Great coverage, great rates,
stellar customer service.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why do my rates keep going up?
Rates may escalate for a variety of reasons; frequency of claims
attributed to mother nature (hurricane, flooding, fire etc.),
rising cost of medical expenses, the cost of legal expenses and
changes in the economy which may result in increased fraud.
2. Why do the insurance companies use credit to determine my
rate? Credit is used as a tool for predicting future losses.
Studies have shown that people with certain events in their
financial history tend to have more claims than other people do.
3. My vehicle is getting older, why aren’t my rates going down?
The majority of auto claims is not indicative to the repair of the
vehicle, rather, the rising cost of medical expenses and the vast
increase of liability and legal fees. Also, it may actually cost
more to repair a vehicle over 10 years of age, than a new vehicle
as parts are not readily available.
4. Does where I live affect my premium? Unfortunately, yes.
In all cities, there are areas that have more congestion and
crime.
5. Do I need to list my 16 year old even though he/she doesn’t
have a vehicle? If he/she has a license and lives in the home,
yes, they need to be listed as a driver. Most companies will rate
them as an occasional driver to keep the premium down.
6. Is windshield replacement automatically covered? No. You must
carry comprehensive coverage on the vehicle and request full glass
be added for a small additional premium.
7. How is my stereo covered? If
you carry comprehensive on the vehicle and the stereo is factory
installed, most companies will include it. But if you upgrade the
stereo and put it somwhere beside where the factory had intended
it, then you need to check with your particular company about
purchasing extra coverage.
8. Do I need to carry Uninsured /
Underinsured Motorist coverage? This coverage is no longer
required. It’s also the most misunderstood coverage. People think
that if they get hit by an uninsured motorist, this coverage will
repair their car. This is not true. It pays for your bodily
injury, loss of wages and pain and suffering. It some cases it can
be duplicate insurance if you already carry health insurance. |
